Arkansas State Police Corporal Reed investigated a 2 vehicle injury crash that took place on Highway 70West at the Marion Anderson Intersection on Tuesday Afternoon.
Witnesses at the scene stated and evidence indicated that the grey Kia was sitting at a private drive to a shopping center wanting to turn left. Westbound traffic had been stopped for the red light at Marion Anderson Road. A driver that had been stopped for the red light stayed stopped and motioned for the Kia to come on out. The Kia made a left turn directly into the path of an eastbound Dodge Charger that had not been stopped for the light – eh just arrived at that location doing the speed limit. The Kia driver could not see the Charger coming. The force of the collision spun the Kia 90° to where both vehicles came to final rest facing east and blocking the eastbound fast lane and the turn lane.
70 West Fire Troops arrived quickly and assisted as needed.
LifeNet responded to the scene and tended to 1 patient, but did not transport.
Pete Hill’s Wrecker Service took charge of at least 1 of the vehicles and removed it from the scene.
Traffic flow was interrupted for approximately 40 minutes.
