Story by Arkansas 911 News Chief Editor Paul Maddox
70 West Fire Troops responded to Mossyrock Street for the call of a house fire last week.
Several Garland County Sheriff’s Patrol Units arrived on scene very quickly and began kicking doors and trying to rouse any occupants that might have been inside the burning house. They also were quick to grab hoses as soon as fire trucks arrived and beat the flames down until relieved by 70 West and Piney Fire Troops.
70 West FD Chief Autumn Carlisle was able to take a minute at the scene to tell me that the occupants of the home had just left the residence. Upon returning, the house was on fire. The cause of the fire was not determined at the time I met with Chief Carlisle.
Approximately half of the house suffered very heavy fire damage. 2 vehicles that were parked near the carport were damaged by fire and the siding on the neighbor’s house melted due to the extreme heat that came from the fire.
Chief Carlisle wanted to make sure that she thanked the Garland County Sheriff’s Patrol for assisting and Piney Fire Department for quickly dispatching a Tanker and several firefighters that assisted with fighting this fire.
