All suspects are presumed innocent until determined guilty in court.
This suspect is identified as a juvenile. No report is available. The info contained in this story is accurate to the best of my knowledge, but not confirmed by officials.
Garland County Sheriff’s Patrol Captain Ware became aware of at least 2 alleged thieves that were currently creepin’ the Forest Hills Apartments Parking Lot last Saturday Morning around 1AM.
He radioed the patrol and had units respond to his location at the apartments. Sergeant Kellar and his squad arrived quickly and spread out. Deputy Hampton checked an abandoned truck that was parked near the tree line on a piece of property adjacent to the apartment complex. The truck was unoccupied and the engine was warm. He sat on that truck in case it was the get away vehicle for the alleged thieves.
The other units met with Capt. Ware and they all fanned out among the properties looking for signs of the suspects. After a short period, a person arrived on foot at Dep. Hampton’s location. That person was detained for investigation. That person (a juvenile) was developed as a suspect and was arrested.
Hot Springs Police were contacted and a K-9 unit was requested to track the 2nd suspect. HSPD K-9 Officer B. Jones arrived to assist. He and his partner deployed into the woods at the apartment complex and tracked North through the woods. They located property in the woods that had just been stolen from vehicles at the Forest Hills Apartments Parking Lot. One of the these items recovered was a firearm.
The suspect, a juvenile, was transported to the Garland County Juvenile Detention Center for processing. Charges are unknown, but may include, Felony Breaking Or Entering and Felony Theft.
The second suspect was not located.
