Hot Springs Police Officer Ward reports that officers with his department were in the area of the 700 Block of Spring Street Friday Night around midnight when they heard several gunshots. Off. Ward quickly arrived in the area of 760 Spring Street and immediately had several people run up to his vehicle.
At least 1 of the people said that he just saw a white male with long hair, wearing a button up shirt and dark colored pants fire several rounds into an apartment at this location. The suspect then jumped a fence and ran towards Autumn Street. Off. Ward put the suspect info out to other officers over the police radio.
Corporal Rostan was on Vine Street (the next block south) at the time and heard the radio message. He found the suspect (that fit the description) very quickly on Vine Street and arrested him. The suspect was searched and officers found a SCCY 9mm pistol in his front right pocket. It had an empty magazine inserted in the grip and the slide was locked to the rear. Also found was an extra magazine in his front left pocket. That magazine was loaded with 11 9mm rounds. Julius Dominic Nash, 19, of Spring Street in Hot Springs, was arrested.
LifeNet dispatched an Ambulance Crew to the scene. The shooting victim was shot in the foot. She was able to make it to the ambulance under her own power. She was transported to the hospital by ambulance.
It was determined that 3 people were in the apartment at the time of this terroristic act. At least 2 of the 3 victims said that Julius Nash is the person that fired these shots into the apartment.
Mr. Nash is charged with Felony Terroristic Act and Felony 2nd Degree Domestic Battery and was initially being held without bond.
