The detectives met with the victims inside the residence. The female had been shot in the arm. Her injury was not life threatening. She identified the alleged shooter as Antonio Ronchester Baker, 47, of Albert Pike Road in Garland County. She said that Mr. Baker came to the residence and shot them. She said that the injured male returned fire. The male had been shot in the chest. His condition was serious. Both patients were transported by LifeNet Ambulance to the hospital. The suspect fled from the residence in a green SUV.
The Garland County Sheriff’s Patrol was given the suspect’s information. They located the suspect vehicle at his residence in the 3500 block of Highway 270W. Blood in the SUV was visible from the outside of the vehicle. A witness said that the SUV belonged to Mr. Baker, that he got out of it with a pistol and that it was currently on a bed inside the residence.
Mr. Baker was soon arrested at the residence where it was discovered that he had suffered a gunshot wound to the shoulder.
HSPD Detectives got permission to search the residence. They seized a pistol and other evidence from the home. The SUV was towed to HSPD HQ for processing.
Mr. Baker was released from the hospital and transported to the HSPD HQ for processing. He admitted to going to the Federal Street location, making contact with the female and shooting at the male victim. He said he did not know that he injured the 2 people with gunfire.
Mr. Baker is charged with Felony Battery x2 with bond set at $150,000.
