All suspects are presumed innocent until determined guilty in court.
Garland County 911 Dispatch received a call reporting a suspicious white SUV in the area of Pittman Road this morning around 2:30AM. Deputies were sent to the area to investigate.
GCSO Corporal Swinney made it to the area quickly and located the white Chevrolet Tahoe in the area of Pittman Road/Marion Anderson Road. He conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. The suspicious vehicle stopped near the dead end on Teresa Street.
A male fled from the vehicle into the woods. GCSO K-9 Team Deputy Strickland and Sandy responded quickly, but were unable to locate that suspect.
The remaining 3 occupants in the Tahoe were detained for investigation. 1 of the occupants had a valid warrant out for his arrest and he was promptly arrested. 1 of the occupants of the vehicle was on supervised parole. The 3rd occupant was wearing a bandana around his neck.
An Arkansas State Trooper Support bumper sticker was affixed to the rear of the Tahoe.
Items allegedly found inside the vehicle led Sergeant Kellar and his associates to suspect that these people may have been involved in recent breaking & entering/theft activity.
The wanted person that was arrested experienced an unspecified medical issue and was transported by LifeNet Ambulance to the hospital.
The parolee and the guy with the bandana were allowed to walk home from the scene. The vehicle was towed.
This situation was still under investigation when I departed the scene.
