Garland County Sheriff’s CID & Patrol Units recognized a white Dodge Dakota in the Drive-Thru at Burger King on Central Avenue last night. They knew that the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Saline County. The truck was occupied by 2 people at the time.
Units gathered in the area and pounced on the vehicle as soon as it cleared the drive-thru. Both occupants were handcuffed and detained. The female was turned loose after a short time and was allowed to leave the area.
What was being described by deputies as “burglary tools”, including a small set of bolt cutters in the driver’s door, were allegedly found inside the stolen truck. A seemingly out of place window air conditioning unit was also located in the bed of the truck.
Kyle William Jernegan, 35, of Hot Springs, was arrested and charged with Felony Theft By Receiving and a Failure To Appear Warrant with a bond amount totaling $3,500.
