On December 3 around 3:15am, Deputy Tatum of the Garland County Sheriff’s Department saw a white Dodge Durango leaving the Piney Junction area in Hot Springs with lighting infractions. The driver of the vehicle was a felon and was in possession of a firearm and drug paraphernalia.

The tag on the white vehicle returned to a tan colored pickup. Tatum stopped the vehicle at 2825 Albert Pike Road. The vehicle had a black rifle stock on the passenger side.

The driver, Albert Watson, 24, of Fairmont Street in Hot Springs, had a suspended license and was a probationer with a search warrant on file. Watson also had a felony conviction in 2018.

The fully loaded rifle was a Remington 770 Bolt Action 30-06 and had not been reported stolen.

Watson was arrested and charged with driving on a suspended license, fictitious tags, improper vehicle lights, failure to present proof of insurance, possession of firearms by certain persons, and possession of drug paraphernalia. The vehicle was towed.

Watson plead not guilty on December 6 and was bonded at $5,000. His felony review is scheduled for December 23.
