Hot Springs Police Officer Nunez reports that he investigated a fatal, 2 vehicle traffic collision last Friday around 12:45PM on Malvern Avenue at the Catherine Heights Road Intersection.
Evidence at the scene indicated that an 1999 Isuzu NPR was traveling East on Malvern Avenue when a 2003 Ford Thunderbird, driven by Marsha Ann Sampson, 74, of Hot Springs, made a left turn onto Malvern Avenue from the stop sign on Catherine Heights Road. The Thunderbird was struck by the Isuzu.
Ms. Sampson was transported to the hospital by LifeNet Ambulance, but did not survive the injury. The driver of the Isuzu was not injured in the crash.
Road conditions at the time of the crash were listed as clear and dry.
Next of Kin has been notified.
This is the 115th fatal crash in the state of Arkansas for 2020.
