Hot Springs Police Lieutenant Roach and most of his shift responded to what was initially dispatched as a vehicle vs. pedestrian injury crash last night at the intersection of Central Avenue and Orange Street.

A Yamaha R6 super sport motorcycle being operated by Matthew “Mamoo” Tadlock, of Hot Springs, was probably traveling south when it collided with the passenger side of a Chevrolet Tahoe driven by Eric Shaw, 42 of Hot Springs. Damage to the Tahoe suggests that it may have either been traveling north on Central Avenue when it attempted to turn left onto Orange Street or was traveling west on Orange Street and was attempting to cross Central Avenue.
Hot Springs Fire & Rescue Troops arrived very quickly and assisted as needed.
LifeNet dispatched at least 1 Ambulance and the EMS Supervisor to the scene.
Deputy Coroner Neighbors came to the scene and conducted his part of the investigation.
Mr. Shaw was arrested and charged with Driving On Suspended Driver’s License.
Next of kin has been notified.
As soon as the HSPD Barricade Van arrived and barricades were set, the extra HSPD Officers went back on patrol. This intersection was closed for approximately 2 hours.
