Fatal Hwy. 70E Three Vehicle Crash Near Lonsdale – GARLAND COUNTY

Arkansas State Police Corporal Reed investigated a 3 vehicle fatality, multiple injury crash on Highway 70 East near Lonsdale last night around 6:47PM.

The Arkansas State Police Preliminary Fatal Crash Summary supports that the westbound Dodge Ram truck crossed the wet highway and side swiped the Nissan Rogue.  The Rogue exited the pavement and came to final rest on the side of the highway.  The truck continued at speed, westbound, rotated sideways in the eastbound lanes and was T-boned by the eastbound Ford Focus.  The Focus rotated 180° and came to final rest on the eastbound  shoulder.  The truck exited the highway and came to final rest near the tree line.

Arkansas Highway Police arrived quickly and assisted as necessary.

Lonsdale Fire & Rescue arrived quickly and went to work accessing patients and providing medical care.  At least 1 occupant was trapped in the wreckage.  LFD Troops freed the trapped patient(s).  They also set a fire watch, blocked traffic and otherwise assisted as needed.

LifeNet dispatched at least 2 Ambulance Crews and the EMS Supervisor to the scene.  Injured in the crash were Mihai Flueras, 40, of Hot Springs; Tommy Avance, 35, of Hot Springs and 2 unidentified juveniles.

Audrea D. Booker, 29, of Hot Springs, suffered life threatening injury in the crash and later died at the hospital.

Holcomb’s Transport & Recovery took charge of at least 1 of the vehicles and removed it from the scene.

Traffic flow was interrupted for at least an hour.
