All suspects are presumed innocent until determined guilty in court.

Piney Fire Troops responded to a residential fire on Bull Bayou Road this morning around 4AM.

Piney Fire Chief Scott Miser told me that a 52 year old lady was killed in the fire.  He said that the cause of the fire is unknown, but suspicious in nature…there was no electricity service hooked to the home.  He says that the fire is under investigation.

Piney FD responded with 2 Engines, their Rescue Truck and 15 firefighters.  They were backed up by 70 West FD, who sent 4-5 firefighters.

The Garland County Sheriff’s Patrol arrived quickly and assisted as needed.

LifeNet dispatched at least 1 Ambulance Crew to the scene for standby duty.  I am not aware of any other injury associated with this fire.

The Garland County Duty Coroner responded to the scene.  He pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.

Traffic Flow was interrupted/blocked at this spot near Sequoia Loop for at least 2 hours.
