Fatal Ejection Rollover Crash At Pirate’s Cove – HOT SPRINGS

Hot Springs Police Officer Plyler investigated a fatal ejection rollover crash Tuesday Morning around 4:30AM on Central Avenue in front of Pirate’s Cove Miniature Golf Course.

The Arkansas State Police Preliminary Fatal Crash Report (ASP maintains all preliminary fatal crash reports) says that Robert Varnedore, 54, of Hot Springs was killed when the southbound, 2006 Toyota Camry his was driving left the roadway, struck an embankment and overturned several times.  Mr. Varnedore was ejected from the vehicle during the crash.  Garland County Deputy Coroner Ryan Hamilton pronounced Mr. Varnedore dead at the scene.

Hot Springs Fire & Rescue Troops arrived quickly along with a LifeNet Ambulance Crew, but the injury was beyond their capacity to help.

Ernie’s Wrecker Service took charge of the vehicle and removed it from the scene.

Traffic flow was interrupted for approximately 3 hours.

Rescue crews were dispatched to this same spot for a second rollover crash that took place approximately 11 hours and 400 ft. south from the scene of this crash.
