Arkansas State Police Corporal Reed investigated a fatal, felony hit & run, car vs. bicycle crash that took place on Highway 70 West at the Adam Brown Valero last night.
The ASP Preliminary Fatal Crash Report states that the bicycle was traveling east when it was slammed into from the rear by an unknown vehicle. The bicycle rider, Brett J. McCullough, 52 of Hot Springs, was killed as a result of the crash. Garland County Deputy Coroner Jayson Neighbors pronounced him dead at the scene. The suspect vehicle immediately fled the scene after impact and has not been located yet.
Hot Springs Police Officers were in the area and may have been the first to respond to this crash. They definitely assisted at the scene.
70 West Fire & Rescue Troops arrived quickly. They took charge of traffic control and assisted as needed.
