Arkansas State Police Lieutenant Joe supervised the investigation of an injury crash that took out a utility pole Saturday Night on Lacy Street at Hobson Avenue.
Evidence at the scene, that I had access to, suggested that the grey Chevrolet Impala was T-boned by the other vehicle at the stop sign (2 way) controlled intersection. The force of the impact sent both cars off the roadway and into a utility pole. The utility pole was snapped into at least 2 pieces and lines came down. 8 People were injured in the crash. An unknown number of people were trapped and had to be cut from the wreckage.
Hot Springs Police arrived quickly and assisted as needed.
Hot Springs Fire & Rescue Troops arrived quickly. They immediately went to work cutting patients out of the wreckage and assisting with medical care.
LifeNet dispatched at least 3 Ambulance Crews to the scene. 8 injured people were transported to the hospital by ambulance.
This intersection was blocked for at least 2 hours.
