All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
Garland County Sheriff’s Patrol Sergeant Kellar, Corporal Swinney, and Deputies Morgan & Green were on patrol in the area of Highway 70 West around 3AM this morning when they noticed a suspicious Cadillac Escalade SUV drive onto Majestic Lodge Road.
Deputy Green ran down to Springwood Road and stopped the vehicle in the trailer park at that location. The suspicious part about this whole thing is that the deputies were on the lookout for this exact vehicle because it had been reported as stolen in Hot Springs the night before.
So, they got the SUV stopped and the owner of the SUV, Timothy Burton, 57 of Hot Springs, explained that the vehicle had since been recovered and was no longer stolen. Then, the deputies (after informing Mr. Burton that Johnson County had put out an arrest warrant for him) informed him that he was under arrest.
The deputies also discovered that a female riding in the vehicle, Tanya Lamy, 44 of Hot Springs had a warrant out for her arrest.
Both suspects were arrested and transported to the Garland County Detention Center. Mr. Burton’s Bond amount (for an unspecified charge) totals $15,000 and Ms. Lamy’s Failure To Comply bond amount totaled $2,500.
