All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
Hot Springs Police investigated a single vehicle rollover crash on Shady Grove Road New Year’s Eve where an alleged intoxicated driver overturned a vehicle and put it into Hot Springs Creek, injuring a juvenile passenger in the process.
Evidence at the scene showed that the southbound vehicle exited the right side of the pavement after negotiating the trestle curve at that location. After departing the pavement, the vehicle immediately fell down a steep embankment, overturned and came to final rest right side up straddling huge rocks in Hot Springs Creek.
HSPD Officers conducted Standardized Field Sobriety Testing and believed the driver, Stevy Ann Burton, 32 of Hot Springs, to be impaired. She was arrested at the scene and transported to the Garland County Detention Center for further processing.
LifeNet dispatched an Ambulance Crew. They tended to at least 1 injured person, a juvenile. It is unknown to me whether that person was transported by ambulance.
Traffic flow was interrupted for approximately 1 hour.
