DWI Injury Entrapment Crash; Truck Vs. Utility Pole – HOT SPRINGS

Hot Springs Police investigated a DWI related crash on Central Avenue at the Waffle House North early Friday Morning.

Evidence at the scene suggested that the southbound truck departed his lane and struck a utility pole.  The pole was snapped into at least 2 pieces and several utility lines crashed to the ground blocking the street.

The truck continued approximately 1/4 mile south and parked partially on the southbound sidewalk in front of Stephen’s Jewelers at West St. Louis Street.

Jacob Woodell – charged with DWI after allegedly striking a utility pole with a Dodge Dakota pick-up truck

Jacob Woodell, 24, was arrested at the scene and transported to the Garland County Detention Center for processing.  His charges include DWI with a bond of $1,000

Hot Springs Fire & Rescue Troops were quick to respond.  They broke out the big tools and cut at least 1 trapped person from the wreckage.

LifeNet dispatched at least 2 Ambulance Crews to the scene.  At least 1 person was transported to the hospital by ambulance.

The HSPD Traffic Van brought out the barricades and this section of Central Avenue traffic flow was altered for at least 3 hours.
