Hot Springs Police Sergeant K. Zaner and his Patrol Troops were dispatched to the area of the Bypass at Central Avenue last night in reference to an alleged reckless driver that may have caused problems on the Bypass. A motorist following the truck had called 911 and was able to get officers to the truck, which wound up stopping in the Wal-Mart Parking Lot on Central Avenue at Buena Vista Street.
Officers made contact with the driver of the FritoLay Truck, Scott Earl Wise, 49. It wasn’t long before they administered the Standardized Field Sobriety Testing. Upon completion of the testing, Mr. Wise was handcuffed and taken to the Garland County Detention Center for processing.
Sgt. Zaner was observed counting pills from a prescription bottle that were allegedly in possession of Mr. Wise at the time of the traffic stop. I don’t know what roll the pills played in this episode, if they played any roll at all. Officers inventory vehicles prior to being towed and must account for all loose property of value as a matter of procedure.
Mr Wise is charged with DWI and Refusal To Submit To Chemical Testing with a bond totaling $1,000.
