Arkansas State Police Corporal Steed investigated a single vehicle crash on Highway 7 South last night where a substantial amount of alleged marijuana was discovered in the wrecked vehicle.
Evidence at the scene showed that the vehicle was traveling south when it exited the right side of the pavement in a curve, struck a culvert, jumped a driveway and struck another culvert; coming to final rest in the roadside ditch.
Lake Hamilton Fire & Rescue Troops were very quick to arrive and were actually on scene within 1 minute of the crash. They assisted with patient care and took charge of traffic control.
LifeNet Dispatched an Ambulance Crew and the EMS Supervisor. They met with at least 1 person, but did not transport.
During the course of the crash investigation, Cpl. Steed came across a large zip-lock type bag full of a green, leafy substance that he believed to be marijuana; located inside a Kroger’s bag within the passenger compartment of the vehicle.
An occupant of the vehicle, Konklesh Lamar Highsmith, 23 of Hot Springs, was arrested at the scene and charged with Unauthorized Use Of Another Person’s Property To Facilitate A Crime and Possession Of A Controlled Substance With The Purpose To Deliver.
