All suspects are presumed innocent until determined guilty in court.

Garland County Sheriff’s Patrol Deputy Parker reports the following:

On August 17, 2019 at approximately 2252hrs, I was patrolling the area of Albert Pike Road, near the Piney Junction when I heard loud yelling coming from the area of AB Corner.  I moved to the location to investigate the noise and saw a silver colored Subaru Forrester with a white male occupant in the front passenger seat and a white female yelling outside the vehicle.

As I approached, the female jumped into the rear passenger seat.  As I spoke to the vehicle occupants, I requested identification but none of the occupants were able to provide identification.

The driver, who verbally identified himself as Phillip Godwin had a large bulge in his front left pocket, when asked of its contents he looked down with no response.

Phillip N. Godwin, 32, of Delight Lane in Royal – allegedly had his meth kit in his pants pocket.

He was instructed to exit the vehicle and asked again about the identification of the bulge in his pocket, this time responding “my meth kit”.  Inside his pocket was a black/green zipper bag which contained a clear glass pipe with crystalline residue within its bowl, and a clear baggie with white crystalline substance.

I asked Godwin where the meth was and he stated “in my left pocket”.  Inside the front left pocket was also a clear plastic baggie that contained 2.6 grams of white crystalline substance with a presumptive identification of crystal methamphetamine.

The passenger, who verbally identified himself as Ronnie Turnbough was sweating profusely and continuously moved his feet around in an apparent attempt to conceal the large backpack at his feet.

Ronnie Edward Turnbough Jr., 28, of Fairwood Circle in Garland County – allegedly found carrying meth in his backpack.

Hanging out of the backpack was a very large knife.  Turnbough was instructed to exit the vehicle and a search was conducted of his person.  When asked what the contents the backpack, Turnbough stated “if I grabbed the right one, it’s just some clothes!”  I asked Turnbough for consent to look into the backpack and he provided consent.

Inside the backpack, I located a clear plastic baggie that contained 2.8 grams of a white crystalline substance with the presumptive identification of crystal methamphetamine.

Godwin was placed in custody and transported to the Garland County Detention Center where he was charged with Felony Possession Of A Controlled Substance (meth), and Felony Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, with a bond amount totaling $6,000.

Turnbough was placed in custody and transported to the Garland County Detention Center where he was charged with Felony Possession of Controlled Substance (meth) with a bond of $3,500.
