Evidence at the scene shows that the front of the truck collided with the cow on the highway.  The truck came to a controlled stop very near the area of impact.  The cow was knocked into the roadside ditch and was killed on impact.

70 West Fire & Rescue Troops responded quickly and assisted with locating as many as 7 other cows that were spotted near the highway in that area.

Approximately 24 hours earlier, very near the same location, another cow was hit and killed by a car.

Contact was made with the owner of the cows and he is supposed to fix the problem.
