All suspects are presumed innocent until determined guilty in court.
Hot Springs Police arrived at a traffic crash this afternoon just in time to allegedly see the driver of a crashed Dodge Ram Truck leap from the wreckage and run for his life.
Convicted Felon Christopher Fugate, 29 of Crescent Street in Hot Springs, allegedly sprinted up Gaines Street on foot from the scene of the crash at the corner of Malvern Avenue at East Maurice Street. HSPD Officers allegedly chased him down and brought him back to justice.
(In 2013, Christopher Fugate was arrested along with 23 other suspects in a year long, joint sting investigation dubbed “Spa City Special” that targeted the sale of illegal drugs on the street. The disposition of any criminal charges in connection to the sting operation is unknown to me.)
Inside the truck, officers allegedly located a stolen Glock pistol, some type of dope and dope gear.
Mr. Fugate is a convicted felon and is prohibited by law from possessing a stolen gun….or any gun.
Mr. Fugate was arrested and transported to the Garland County Detention Center for processing. He is charged with Felony Possession Of A Firearm By Certain Persons, Felony Simultaneous Possession Of Drugs and Guns, Felony Theft By Receiving, Felony Possession Of A Controlled Substance With Purpose To Deliver, Felony Unauthorized Use Of Another Person’s Property To Commit A Crime, Felony Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia and Fleeing with a bond amount totaling $19,000 and a o bond hold placed for the felony felon in possession of firearm charge.
