Evidence at the scene showed that vehicle exited the right side of the pavement in a curve and center punched a moderate sized tree.  The car caught fire upon impacting the tree.

The driver was able to escape the flames in time to survive.

Mountain Pine & Piney Fire Troops each brought a fire truck and plenty of people to help.  The car burned quickly and was an out of control inferno by the time Fire Troops could begin hitting the fire with water.

LifeNet dispatched an Ambulance Crew to the scene.  They picked up 1 patient and transported her to the hospital.

Traffic flow was interrupted and the road was closed for approximately an hour and a half.
