Car Thief Kills 2 People In Double Fatal Crash On Albert Pike; Arrest – HOT SPRINGS

DOUBLE FATAL CRASH ON ALBERT PIKE

On September 12, 2018 at 10:30am, the Hot Springs Police Department took a report in reference to a silver 2009 Hyundai Sonata being stolen from 400 Linwood Street. At 11:24am, officers observed the car in the area of Third Street and Hobson. Officers attempted to stop the car at Hicks Circle and Albert Pike Road, but the driver fled and officers initiated a pursuit. Officers lost sight of the vehicle in the 1400blk of Albert Pike and due to dangerous speeds, the pursuit was terminated. 

At 11:27am, officers located the car wrecked in the 2100blk of Albert Pike Road, where it had struck a 2000 Toyota Corolla in the driver side.  The two occupants of the Toyota were killed in the collision, their identities are not being released at this time, pending next of kin notifications.

The driver of the stolen Hyundai has been identified as Gystin Michael Parker (19) of Riverdale, Georgia. Parker has been charged with Felony Theft by Receiving, and Felony Fleeing in a Vehicle.

The crash is currently under investigation and more charges will be forthcoming, pending the results of the investigation.

Parker is being held on a $100,000 bond at the Garland County Detention Center.
