Car Jumps Embankment..Airborne Rollover Entrapment Injury Crash – GARLAND COUNTY

Arkansas State Police investigated a single vehicle airborne, rollover, entrapment, injury crash on Highway 70 West near Hilltop last week.

Evidence at the scene showed that the pick-up truck was westbound when the driver failed to negotiate the curve.  The truck exited the right side of the pavement, scraped along a dirt embankment for a short distance, drove over a driveway, struck another embankment, went approximately 10 ft. airborne for approximately 60 ft., slammed into the ground, overturned at least twice and came to final rest right side up in a front yard.

Arkansas Highway Police were quick to respond and assist as necessary.

The Garland County Sheriff’s Patrol arrived quickly and assisted as necessary.

70 West Fire & Rescue Troops arrived quickly.  They set gear out to fight fire if necessary, cut the driver out of the vehicle, assisted with patient care and otherwise helped as needed.

LifeNet dispatched at least 1 Ambulance Crew to the scene.  At least 1 person was transported by ambulance to the hospital.

Traffic flow was interrupted for a short period.
