2018 IRS Refund Schedule
Arkansas State Police Corporal Steed investigated a 2 vehicle crash on Highway 7 South at Fisherman’s Wharf this morning.
According to witnesses at the scene, the grey car was northbound when it crossed the center line in the curve at the end of the bridge. It struck a southbound white Camaro. The Camaro rolled over and caught on fire.
Cpl. Steed said that the driver of the grey car was trapped inside their vehicle. The battery was dead and the windows would not roll down. He was able to go back to his trooper car and get a device that unlocked the vehicle. They removed that driver from the grey car as the Camaro went up in flames a few feet away.
Lake Hamilton Fire Troops arrived quickly. This crash took place as LHFD was already responding to a structure fire of some sort within their district. LHFD put the fire out, assisted with patient care and otherwise as needed.
LifeNet dispatched 2 ambulances to the scene. They transported at least 2 people to the hospital by ambulance.
Garland County Environmental Officers were on scene due to fire hose water runoff going downhill and the proximity of the crash to the lake. I’m not aware of any lake contamination having taken place during this event. The Environmental Officers respond and assist with crashes quite frequently as a matter of routine whenever there is a chance that a body of water may become affected by any type of runoff from a crash.
Traffic flow was interrupted for approximately 1 hour.
