Garland County 911 Dispatch received a call for a burglary in progress in the Sunshine Road area early Thursday Morning.  The caller said that the suspect(s) attempted to kick in the front door of a residence and gave the description of the suspect vehicle as a white minivan.

Garland County Sheriff’s Patrol Corporal Cannon arrived near that area and began looking for the suspect vehicle.  He soon spotted a white minivan.  As he tried to get closer to it to investigate, the vehicle fled at a very high rate of speed onto Highway 70 West and headed towards Hot Springs.

The chase quickly entered the city limits and got to the 500 Block of Albert Pike very quickly.  As the minivan approached the big curve at Summer Street, it crossed the entire highway and struck a utility pole at the Anna Street Intersection.

All occupants inside the suspect vehicle immediately fled on foot after impact.  They have not been  located as of upload time.

The pole was split and Entergy had to come out and replace it.

Traffic flow was interrupted for at least 4 hours.
