Garland County Sheriff’s Patrol Sergeant Kellar and Deputy Green investigated this situation where a very nice Nissan 300Z type of car went to the bottom of Lake Ouachita around midnight.
The driver and passenger had parked and gotten out of the car at the top of the Crystal Springs Boat Ramp. Suddenly, the car rolled down the ramp and into the water where it floated for a couple of minutes before dipping out of sight. 1 of the car’s headlights kept going on and off as the car sat on the lake floor approximately 60 ft. from the shoreline and in approximately 12 ft. of water.
GCSO Sgt. Kellar ordered out scuba divers to assist with the recovery of the vehicle. Morning Star Fire Captain Jason Carpenter and his brother, Little Rock Firefighter Eric Carpenter responded with full scuba suits and all the gear necessary.
Doug and Dakota Hill of Pete Hill’s Wrecker Service easily pulled the submerged vehicle back to civilization, took charge of it and removed it from the scene.
No injuries were reported in connection to this incident.
