Ashley County Felon Hiding Out For Over A Year; Foot Chase/Arrest – GARLAND COUNTY

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.

Arkansas Community Correction Special Response Team Agent Brandon Emerson reports that Parole Absconder Lonnell Sias was taken back into custody after a short foot chase through the woods near Gabor Lane off of South Moore Road in Western Garland County around noon yesterday.



SIAS,LONNELL NMN, 22 of Hot Springs – allegedly fled through the woods, being held with no bond on a parole violation out of Arkansas Community Correction

Agent Emerson and his partner developed information that put Sias in a trailer house at the corner of Charming Heights Road and Chancellor Road.  The agents approached the residence with an arrest warrant for Sias, when a black male wearing a hi-vis shirt, bright red pants fled from inside the residence, down Chancellor Street and into the woods, southbound through the woods.  The Garland County Sheriff’s Patrol was advised and got themselves en route to the scene.  The Parole Agents were able to identify the fleeing suspect as Lonnell Sias as he departed the residence.

Garland County 911 Dispatchers relayed tips from passing motorists to deputies on the scene, and were able to give accurate sightings of the fleeing suspect to the deputies.  The last good sighting of the suspect was at a residence in the 500 Block of South Moore Road.  Deputies swarmed that residence while GCSO CID Corporal Threadgill went down a dirt road adjacent to the property.  The suspect was located on this dirt road and arrested by Cpl. Threadgill without incident and turned over to the parole agents.

Sias is on parole for Robbery out of Ashley County.  Sias has been on absconder status for over a year.
