Evidence at the scene suggested that the marked Arkansas Highway Police SUV was parked on the shoulder of the interstate with blue lights activated when rear-ended by another vehicle.  The force of the collision shoved the AHP SUV across the highway where it came to final rest in the fast lane.  The offending vehicle came to final rest on a side of the highway.

The AHP Officer was injured and flown by the LifeNet Air Crew to an emergency room.  It is unknown to me whether anyone else was injured in this crash.

Ouachita FD, Southwest Rural FD, Rockport/Mt. Willow FD and Arkadelphia FD arrived quickly and removed the trapped person from the vehicle.

Baptist Ambulance dispatched at least 1 Ambulance Crew to the scene.  They assisted as necessary.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Patrol, Caddo Valley PD, Rockport PD, Hot Spring County Sheriff’s Patrol and Clark County Office of Emergency Management all assisted as necessary.

Traffic flow was interrupted for at least 2 hours.
