All suspects are presumed innocent until determined guilty in court.

Garland County Detention Sergeant Mann reports that he was on duty and conducting a perimeter check of the Garland County Detention Center when he discovered that the $200 trash can and the $20 soap dispenser that are supposed to be in the men’s lobby restroom were missing in action.

Sgt. Mann checked the building maintenance log and was not able to find any notes on these 2 items. Sgt. Mann went back in time with the jail’s surveillance video.  On the video, he found where recently released inmate Jerry Sean Hampton, 32, of Buxton Loop in Garland County, entered that bathroom on December 10, 2020, at 12:50AM and exited that same bathroom 35 minutes later with the trash can.  He exited the building and got into a blue, 2 door vehicle that had been waiting outside.

Jerry Sean Hampton, 32, of Buxton Loop in Garland County – Allegedly hijacked the sheriff’s trash can at midnight for some reason.

Sgt. Mann was able to determine that the suspect see on the video is Mr. Hampton.  Sgt. Mann obtained an arrest warrant and entered it into the police computer.

On January 7, 2021, around noon, GCSO Patrol Deputy Blunkall came across and arrested Mr. Hampton on Ouachita Avenue at Hot Springs District Court.
