All suspects are presumed innocent until determined guilty in court.
Hot Springs Police Officer McAdoo reports that he was dispatched to KFC on East Grand Avenue last night around 7PM in reference to an intoxicated person.
Off. McAdoo and Off. West arrived quickly and found the intoxicated person. The suspect said that he was trying to get water for his friend who was sick and laying at the back of the property. Off. McAdoo went back and located the sick person. He made contact with Andrew Cox, 37, homeless in Hot Springs. Mr. Cox advised that he had a medical condition and was not feeling good.
Off. McAdoo ordered a LifeNet Ambulance to the scene. The Ambulance Crew arrived quickly, met with the patient and decided that he needed to go to the hospital. Mr. Cox was searched for weapons prior to getting into the ambulance. Off. West ultimately pulled .4 gram of meth out of Mr. Cox’s pants pocket. Mr. Cox told Off. West that there were “drugs in there”.
Mr. Cox was transported by ambulance to the hospital. He was arrested and transported to the Garland County Detention Center upon release from the hospital.
Mr. Cox is charged with Felony Possession Of A Controlled Substance with a bond amount of $2,500.
