Hot Springs Police Officer Rideout reports that he was on patrol in the area of East Grand when he found a white Honda Civic running around with the incorrect license plate being displayed. He turned on the blue lights and conducted a traffic stop on the Civic.
Off. Rideout went to the driver’s window and made contact with the driver. While talking with the driver, Timothy James Montgomery, 27, of Wise Street in Hot Springs, he detected the strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Off. Rideout told Mr. Montgomery that he could smell the marijuana. Mr. Montgomery responded by saying that he had a little bit of weed on him. Mr. Montgomery exited the vehicle and was handcuffed during the search that was to follow.
Inside the vehicle, Off. Rideout and back-up Officer Sergeant May located: 8.5 grams of marijuana in 2 different containers, a clear pipe and 1.2 grams of meth.
Mr. Montgomery was arrested and transported to the Garland County Detention Center for processing.
