Alleged: Wanted Man With Dope Refuses To Leave Motel; Felony Arrest – HOT SPRINGS

All suspects are presumed innocent until determined guilty in court.

Hot Springs Police Officer Gates reports that he was dispatched to a motel in the area of the 1200 block of Central Avenue yesterday around 3AM for the call of trespassing.

Off. Gates arrived quickly and made contact with security personnel at that location.  They said that they had a male on the property that has been told several times to leave the property, but that this person remains on the property and refuses to leave.

Corey Scott Stephens, 43, of Windsor Park Drive in Cabot – allegedly trespassing at the motel with dope and a warrant out for his arrest.

Off. Gates made contact with the suspect, Corey Scott Stephens, 43, of Windsor Park Drive in Cabot.  Mr. Stephens pertinents were checked through the police computer and the check returned a Failure To Appear arrest warrant. for him.

Off. Gates attempted too placeMr. Stephens into handcuffs and he ran across the parking lot.  He was quickly captured and brought back to justice peacefully.  During the following, standard search of the suspect, a glass pipe with white residue , a syringe and 1.5 grams of meth was located on his person.

Mr. Stephens was arrested and transported to the Garland County Detention Center for processing.  He is charged with Felony Possession Of A Controlled Substance, Felony Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia and Fleeing with a bond amount totaling $5,500.
