All suspects are presumed innocent until determined guilty in court.
Hot Springs Police Department Detective Threadgill reports that he saw a man he knew to have active U.S. Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms and HSPD warrants riding in a red car on August 20th, 2020 around 6pm. Detectives positively identified the man as, Jaquez Damien-Walker Jones, 23 of Oakwood Street in Hot Springs. Detectives contacted Arkansas State Police to assist with conducting a traffic stop on the vehicle.
ASP Troopers located the red car getting onto the bypass from Albert Pike Road. Troopers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle between Albert Pike Road and Airport Road. Mr. Jones was taken into custody without incident.
Mr. Jones was searched and was found to be wearing a black pistol holster. Troopers searched the vehicle and found a loaded (6 rounds) Rock Island Armory revolver under the seat Mr. Jones was sitting in. They also found a pill bottle containing 34 Ecstasy pills in his pocket. A red fanny pack belonging to Mr. Jones was also found and inside it was a digital scale.
Mr. Jones was convicted of Felony Armed Robbery in Indiana 2016. Convicted felons are prohibited by law from possessing firearms in Arkansas.
Mr. Jones was transported to the Garland County Detention Center for Processing. He is charged with Felony Possession Of Firearms By Certain Persons, Felony Possession Of A Schedule I or II Controlled Substance Not Meth Or Cocaine With Purpose To Deliver, Felony Simultaneous Possession Of Drugs And Firearms, Felony Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia and Failure to Appear x2. Mr. Jones was initially being held without bond.
