All suspects are presumed innocent until determined guilty in court.
Hot Springs Police Sergeant May reports that he was on patrol in the area of Albert Pike Road at Summer Street when he saw a 2010 blue Toyota car make an improper turn. It traveled up the street and made another illegal turn. He went after the car and turned on the blue lights. A traffic stop was conducted in the area of Bayles Street.
Sgt. May exited his vehicle and made contact with the driver, Jeremiah Buck Moore, 26, of Dino Street in Hot Springs; front seat passenger, Dylan Gregory Payte, 20, of Circle H Drive in Garland County and Giorgio Malek Shaw, 22, of East Grand Avenue in Hot Springs.
Sgt. May checked Mr. Moore’s pertinent through the police computer and found that he was an active probationer with a search waiver on file. Everyone was asked to exit the vehicle and a search of the vehicle began.
Mr. Shaw suddenly fled on foot as officers were searching the vehicle. He was chased down quickly and brought back to justice. The search of the vehicle continued.
Mr. Shaw’s pertinents were run through the police computer. The check revealed that he was convicted of Felony Residential Burglary in Garland County 10/2017. Convicted felons are prohibited by law from possessing firearms in Arkansas.
Officers located a backpack during the search. No one would claim the bag, so it was searched. Inside the backpack, officers found a loaded (15 rounds) Ruger 9mm pistol, a digital scale and approximately 21 grams of marijuana.
Still, no one claimed the backpack. All 3 suspects were arrested and transported to the Garland County Detention Center for processing.
Probationer Moore is charged with Felony Simultaneous Possession Of Drugs And Firearms, Felony Possession Of Controlled Substance With Purpose To Deliver and Felony Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia with a no bond hold placed.
Mr. Payte is charged the same and same bond situation as Probationer Moore.
Mr. Shaw is charged with Felony Simultaneous Possession Of Drugs And Firearms, Felony Possession Of A Controlled Substance With Purpose To Deliver, Felony Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia, Felony Possession Of Firearm By Certain Person and Fleeing with a no bond hold placed.
