Alleged Thief Goes To Dinner With Bag Full Of Ecstasy Pills; Felony Arrest – HOT SPRINGS

Hot Springs Police Officer 1st Class McCauley reports the following:

On 07/13/2019 at approximately 1518 hours I, OFC McCauley #173, arrived at 500 Cornerstone Boulevard (Belk) in reference to a Theft. I made contact with the witness/employee, who stated between the hours of 1430 and 1515 hours the suspect, later identified as Jeanna Nicole Roark, carried several pieces of merchandise into the fitting room.

Roark exited the fitting room with the merchandise in a green tote bag passing all points of sale and not paying.  On video footage I, OFC McCauley #173, observed Roark holding a box of children’s shoes, a dark colored bra, light colored blue jean shorts, and a light colored purse with a flap on the front and a gold chained strap.  Roark entered the fitting room with those items.  On the video footage I observed Roark exit the fitting room at approximately 1500 hours on 07/13/2019 with her large green canvas tote bag that appeared stuffed full.  She was not located at the time of this call.

Jenna Nicole Roark, 21, of Aldridge Road in Garland County – allegedly caught stealing from a store then was found by police at a nearby restaurant allegedly wearing stolen goods, carrying lots of pills, drug needles, and marijuana.  CRIMINAL HISTORY Includes: In 2/2017 Ms. Roark pled guilty to Misdemeanor Theft Of Property at Hot Springs Mall..placed on 6 months probation, sentenced to 12 months in jail – all suspended except 2 days..random drug testing ordered..no contact order issued with Hot Springs Mall.

At approximately 1715 hours on 07/13/2019 I arrived at 190 Paris Street (On The Border Mexican Cafe) in reference to two suspicious individuals in the bathroom.  I identified a white female being the same female on the video footage sitting at a table.  While seated, I observed the stolen white purse with a gold chain strap over Roark’s shoulder.  I made contact with Roark, read her Miranda rights and after stating “yes” that she understood them, she stated she was wearing some of the merchandise that she took from Belk.

Incident to arrest, I searched Roark’s purse finding one circular blue pill with the imprint of a monkey weighing 0.2 grams suspected to be ecstasy.  Roark also had possession of a small black three zipper purse that contained two used syringes, several unused syringes in a plastic bag, one clear plastic baggie containing 10 pills of different colors and symbols weighing 1.8 grams suspected to be ecstasy, one TicTac box containing 20 pills of different colors and symbols weighing 3.8 grams suspected to be ecstasy, 12 loose pills of different colors and symbols weighing 2.1 grams suspected to be ecstasy, 1 loose pink round pill identified as oxycodone hydrochloride weighing 0.1 grams, and a green leafy substance I know to be marijuana in a Pom Pom pouch weighing 2.4 grams.

The total cost of the merchandise was 156.98.

Ms. Roark was arrested and transported to the Garland County Detention Center for processing.  She is charged with Felony Possession Of A Controlled Substance With Purpose To Deliver x2, Felony Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession Of A Controlled Substance With Purpose To Deliver and Theft Of Property Under $1,000 with a bond amount totaling $13,000.

Ms. Roark was arrested and transferred to the Garland County Detention Center for processing.  She is charged with Theft Of Property Under $1000.00, Felony Possession Of A Sch I Or II With Purpose, Felony Drug Paraphernalia, Possession Of A Sch VI With Purpose, and Felony Possession Of A Sch I Or II With Purpose with a bond amount totaling $13,000.00.
