All suspects are presumed innocent until determined guilty in court.

Hot Springs Police Officer W. Stockwell reports that while on patrol August 9th, 2020 at approximately 7:38pm, he saw a vehicle being operated on public streets with no license plate.

Off. Stockwell conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle at the intersection of Pleasant Street and East Grand Avenue. When the vehicle came to a stop, the female passenger, later identified as Jasmine Nutt, 26, of Lowery Street in Hot Springs, exited the vehicle and lit incense.

Jasmine Nutt, 26, of Lowery Street in Hot Springs – Allegedly riding around with marijuana and a stolen pistol.

Off. Stockwell made contact with the driver, who removed his face mask from the center console, leaving a marijuana bong in plain view. Neither the driver nor Ms. Nutt claimed ownership of the bong. Ms. Nutt was asked by officers to step onto the sidewalk and she asked to take her bag from the vehicle. That request was denied.

A probable cause search of the vehicle and its contents was conducted.

Officers located a pistol inside the bag Ms. Nutt asked for. The pistol’s serial number was checked through the police computer and was determined to be stolen out of Garland County.

Ms. Nutt was arrested. She admitted to having marijuana (0.7 grams) in her bra.

Ms. Nutt was transported to the Garland County Detention Center for processing. She is charged with Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession Of A Controlled Substance, and Felony Theft By Receiving with bond set at $4500.
