Alleged: Stole A Car To Go See His Girlfriend; Felony Arrest – HOT SPRINGS

Hot Springs Police Officer Stockwell was on patrol in the area of the Dodge’s Store on East Grand Avenue October 3, 2020 around midnight when he saw a vehicle that matched the description of a stolen vehicle report that he dealt with earlier in the shift.  He checked the plate through the police computer and confirmed that this vehicle was the stolen vehicle.

Off. Stockwell turned on the blue lights and conducted a traffic stop on the stolen vehicle.  Driver, Daniel Edward Kendrick, 29, of Maverick Place in Garland County, was ordered out of the car and arrested.

Daniel Edward Kendrick, 29, of Maverick Place in Garland County – allegedly stole a car to go see his girlfriend.

While Mr. Kendrick was being transported to the Garland County Detention Center, he made several spontaneous statements about him taking the car so he could go see his girlfriend.  He made statements during the booking process about how he was “about to go back to prison”.

Mr. Kendrick is charged with Felony Theft Of Property with a $2,500 Bond.
