All suspects are presumed innocent t until determined guilty in court.
Arkansas State Trooper Parker was on patrol working speed enforcement on Highway 70 East at Lonsdale last night when a blue Ford Mustang allegedly ran across his radar in excess of the posted speed limit.
Trp. Parker went to catch up to the suspect vehicle, but the suspect vehicle allegedly sped off. The Mustang allegedly continued speeding West towards Hot Springs. Trp. Parker notified ASP Troop K Dispatch that he was in pursuit and other troopers headed that way to assist. The suspect allegedly turned his vehicle’s lights off as he fled from the trooper.
The suspect voluntarily pulled over in the area of the Highway 70 East Rest Area where he was promptly arrested. The suspect is a juvenile and there was at least 1 other juvenile in the car at the time of the pursuit. Information about charges are unknown to me.
The Garland County Sheriff’s Patrol arrived quickly to assist as necessary.
No injuries were reported.
Holcomb’s Transport & Recovery was called to the scene to tow the suspect vehicle from the side of the highway.
Traffic flow was not interrupted.
