All suspects are presumed innocent until determined guilty in court.
Garland County Sheriff’s Training Sergeant Schroeder was working DWI patrol on the Bypass last night when he spotted a vehicle that he intended to stop. He turned on the blue lights and the vehicle allegedly did not stop.
He followed the vehicle to Airport Road where the vehicle reached speeds allegedly in excess of 70Mph. The vehicle continued on Airport Road until it turned onto West St. Louis Street. The suspect went to Greenwood Avenue, hit several streets, went to Shady Grove Road, then wound up over near Wade Street.
People got out of the black Chevrolet car in the area of Wise Street and allegedly fled on foot. The vehicle allegedly continued to Raymond Street where it stopped behind an apartment building. Approximately 3 people were detained for investigation.
Deputies were able to trace the pursuit route and find a gun that was allegedly tossed out of the suspect vehicle during the chase.
Ultimately, 1 wanted female was arrested. I will try to obtain the details of this arrest and update the story on Monday.
