Alleged: Parolee Uses Phone Cord To Strangle Victim; Felony Arrest – HOT SPRINGS

All suspects are presumed innocent until determined guilty in court.

Hot Springs Police were dispatched to the 1500 block of Hobson Avenue at approximately 4:25pm on August 10th, 2020 in reference to a battery.

Officers reported that they arrived on scene and met with the victim who said that her boyfriend, Richard Clayborn, 26, of Hickory Street in Hot Springs, had assaulted her at approximately 3am that same day.

Parolee Richard Clayborn, 26, of Hickory Street in Hot Springs – Allegedly beat and strangled his girlfriend.

Parolee Clayborn allegedly punched the victim in the face so hard that it split her lip to the gum. He also allegedly struck her multiple times in the buttocks with a hammer and then strangled her with a phone cord to the point the victim went into a seizure.

Officers saw injuries on the victim consistent with what she told them. Officers report that the victim’s lip was split all the way down to the gum line. They also saw a large red mark around her neck which was consistent with someone wrapping a cord around it. At the time of the report officers did not see any visible marks on her buttocks.

Parolee Clayborn was arrested and transported to the Garland County Detention Center for processing. He is charged with Felony Aggravated Assault On A Family Or Household Member, Domestic Battery In The 3rd Degree and Parole Violation with bond set at $30,000. A Parole Hold has been placed.
