Hot Springs Police Officer Smith reports that he was dispatched to a bank on Malvern Avenue in reference to a woman in a vehicle at the drive thru window attempting to cash a forged check. CLICK HERE for her arrest.
The passenger in that vehicle was identified as Elijah Lee Law, 27, of Kinsey Lane in Garland County. He appeared nervous and was sweating profusely while talking with Off. Smith. During the contact, Off. Smith was able to confirm that Mr. Law was on probation with a search waiver on file. When asked why he was on probation, Probationer Law replied “illegal narcotics”.
Off. Smith had Probationer Law step out of the vehicle so he could search it. Off. Smith found a black backpack that was within reach of where Probationer Law was sitting. Inside the backpack, Off. Smith found 6 syringes, a spoon with residue on it, a tiny amount of meth several small plastic baggies, a digital scale, a smoking pipe and 5.9 grams of marijuana.
Probationer Law is charged with Felony Possession Of A Controlled Substance, Felony Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession Of A Controlled Substance with bond set at $6,000.
