All suspects are presumed innocent until determined guilty in court.

Garland County Sheriff’s Patrol Deputy Hampton was on patrol at night in the area of Weston Road last weekend when he heard a gunshot(s) very near his location.  He called for back-up and began investigating.

It wasn’t long before Dep. Hampton and GCSO Deputy Tatum found flashlights shining in the woods.  Dep. Hampton saw 2 adult males emerge from the tree line and he detained them.  It was determined that the men were currently, allegedly, engaged in the act of night hunting.  A 3rd adult male, connected to the other 2, was located in a vehicle in the immediate area.  All 3 of the suspects were armed.

Arkansas Game & Fish was notified.  Officers from the Enforcement Division of that department were dispatched to the scene to assist.

The 3 suspects are charged with Night Hunting, Hunting Without Permission and Trespassing.  They were all issued citations for the alleged offenses and released at the scene.

Firearms allegedly found during the night hunting investigation.
