Alleged: Man Chokes And Beats Girlfriend With A Gun; Felony Arrest – HOT SPRINGS

Hot Springs Police Officer Rideout reports that he was dispatched to the 500 block of Trivista Left Street on September 26th, 2020 at approximately 12:48am in reference to a lady that was half nude and bloody.

Off. Rideout arrived on scene and met with the victim. The victim told police that she was at her residence on Laser Street when she ran from her boyfriend, Ronnie Dawson, 50, of Laser Street in Hot Springs.

Ronnie Dawson, 50, of Laser Street in Hot Springs – Allegedly beat and choked his girlfriend during an argument.

The victim said that Mr. Dawson became angry with her and accused her of infidelity. Mr. Dawson then hit the victim in face with a closed fist. He then hit the victim in the side of the head with a small glass vase. Mr. Dawson began to choke the victim with his hands and she began going in and out of consciousness. The victim said Mr. Dawson then grabbed a “long gun” and said “I’m gonna kill you and ain’t nobody gonna know what happened to you”.  Mr. Dawson then stuck the victim with the firearm several times in the head which knocked her out.

Mr. Dawson began to slap and throw water on the victim to wake her up. The victim woke up and Mr. Dawson was not in the room. She used that opportunity to run from the residence. She knocked on the door of a residence on Trivista Left Street to get help.

Officers saw that the victim was only dressed in leggings and had blood all over her upper body and hands. The victim also had a large knot on her forehead from being struck with the firearm.

Mr. Dawson was arrested at the scene. He was transported to the Garland County Detention Center for processing. He is charged with Felony Domestic Battery In The 2nd Degree. He was initially being held with no bond.
