All suspects are presumed innocent until determined guilty in court.
Hot Springs Police Detective Threadgill reports that the Hot Springs Police Special Investigations – Narcotics Unit, the 18th East Judicial Drug Task Force and Federal Drug Enforcement Agency Special Agents executed a narcotic search warrant August 25, 2021, around 11AM, at a residence located at 308 Pine Meadows Loop.
Inside the residence, SWAT Officers located: Barry W. Paxton, 48, of 308 Pine Meadows Loop in Hot Springs; Crystal Jean Ruby Byars, 51, of 308 Pine Meadows Loop in Hot Springs, and Malea Harrison, 18, of 308 Pine Meadows Loop In Hot Springs. All 3 were arrested.
Inside the residence, HSPD Detectives, DTF Investigators and DEA Agents located: 13 baggies containing approximately 412 grams of meth, 4 amphetamine pills, 1.7 grams marijuana, $2,914 cash (several denominations), 1 gold colored 1870 $20 coin, boxes of new plastic baggies, 2 scooping cups with meth residue, digital scale, 2 meth pipes, 1 marijuana pipe, syringe with blood, 2 empty syringes, Department of the Navy paperwork for some third party person, iPhone(s), a ledger and a journal documenting drug transactions.
Inside a vehicle, officers located $17 cash.
All of the cash at the scene was seized by DTF Investigators.
Records show that the residence belongs to Mr. Paxton.
All 3 prisoners were transported to the Garland County Detention Center for processing. Mr. Paxton is charged with Felony Trafficking Of Meth, Felony Maintaining A Drug Premise, Felony Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia x2 and was initially being held without bond.
Ms. Ruby Byars is charged with the same as Mr. Paxton with the same bond situation.
Ms. Harrison is charged with Possession Of A Controlled Substance and Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia with bond set at $2,000.
