All suspects are presumed innocent until determined guilty in court.
Garland County Sheriff’s Patrol Deputy Hampton was dispatched to a work site on Millcreek Road early this morning to investigate the complaint of suspicious activity involving a black SUV.
Dep. Hampton arrived in the area to find a black SUV pulling a trailer. The unlicensed vehicle fit the description of the suspicious vehicle and the unlicensed trailer was riding on a rim with no tire and sparks just a flyin’ as it went down the road.
Dep. Hampton moved in behind the vehicle to conduct a traffic stop, but the vehicle allegedly went to fleeing before the blue lights even came on. The vehicle fled on Millcreek Road.
After cutting through a yard, the vehicle found it’s way to Promise Land Road. The suspect allegedly fled up and down the hilly area, entered the dirt portion of the road and came into the area where the new Bypass Extension is under construction. The suspect lost control of the vehicle, departed the driving portion of the dirt road and went down the steep embankment. The truck trailer combo jack-knifed itself and became stuck on the embankment.
The driver allegedly jumped out and ran into the woods. A female in the vehicle was detained for investigation.
The Garland County Sheriff’s Department is investigating.
