All suspects are presumed innocent until determined guilty in court.

Arkansas State Police Sergeant Steed was on patrol on Albert Pike Road in the area of Cajun Boilers around 1AM when he allegedly found a vehicle traveling on the highway with what appeared to be an altered license plate tab.  Sgt. Steed ran the plate number through Troop K Dispatch and it returned as belonging to a different vehicle.

Sgt. Steed turned on the blue lights and tried to stop the vehicle, but it alleged fled to Weston Road.  The suspect vehicle turned onto Weston Road and allegedly continued to flee.  Weston Road is full of twists, hills and probably THE most treacherous paved curve in the entire county.  Sgt. Steed wanted to put the PIT move (Pursuit Intervention Technique – whereby the pursuing vehicle taps the rear corner of the fleeing vehicle…taking it out of control and in most cases, off the road; bringing the pursuit to an end).  However, there was very little chance to do that on Weston Road.  The pursuit continued southbound.

When the suspect vehicle reached Cliff Loop, it took a right turn, traveled a short distance and slammed into the front door area of a house.  Michael Cobb McNabb, 31, of Foust Lane in Royal, allegedly sprang on foot from the driver’s seat of the suspect wreckage in a full sprint towards the shoreline of Lake Hamilton.  Mr. McNabb allegedly ran into the lake and kept on truckin’ with 3 troopers and 5 deputies immediately hot on his trail.

Michael Cobb McNabb, 31, of Foust Lane in Royal – allegedly fled from troopers, jumped in the lake and was charged with DWI after crashing a stolen car into a house.

While the cops didn’t jump in the lake, they did manage to follow him along the lakefront properties into a cove in the 700 Block of Weston Road, behind a condo complex.

The Garland County Sheriff’s Patrol closed in and captured the suspect at the water’s edge in the lower condo parking lot.

Mr. McNabb was arrested and transported to the Garland County Detention Center for processing.  He is charged with Felony Theft By Receiving, Felony Fleeing, Felony Use Of Another Person’s Property To Facilitate A Crime, Felony Criminal Mischief, Reckless Driving, DWI/Drugs and Refusal To Submit To Chemical Test with a bond amount totaling $15,000.
