All suspects are presumed innocent until determined guilty in court.
Hot Springs Police Officer First Class Caldwell investigated what appeared to be a rear-end crash Monday Night on Higdon Ferry Road in front of Skateland.
Evidence at the scene suggested that the southbound Silverado may have slammed into the rear of the white car in front of Skateland. The white car crossed the entire highway and came to final rest against the left side of the highway. The Silverado continued south after impact, went over the curb, struck a street sign(s), continued south down the hill, veered right into the Fireworks Store Parking Lot and struck a parked white van. The van may have been pushed into other items that were sitting next to the van.
Other evidence at the scene included a black car that was towed from the scene. It is unknown to me whether that vehicle was involved in the crash.
Another item at the scene, a busted, maroon side view mirror, had been recently deposited around the area of impact. It’s possible relevance to this crash is unknown to me.
Officers responding to the Fireworks Store located the alleged driver of the Silverado and they conducted the Standardized Field Sobriety Testing. The suspect was arrested at the conclusion of the testing and possibly transported to the Garland County Detention Center. Any possible charges, if any, are unknown to me.
Hot Springs Fire & Rescue Troops arrived quickly and took charge of traffic control and otherwise assisted as needed.
LifeNet dispatched an Ambulance Crew to the scene. They met with people involved in the crash, but whatever action they took, if any, is unknown to me.
Holcomb’s Transport & Recovery took charge of and removed at least 2 vehicles from the scene.
Traffic flow was interrupted for approximately an hour.
